How we extract a piano from a Hong Kong flat
Every piano job starts with a survey — either photos over WhatsApp or an in-person look. We check three things:
- Lift dimensions. An upright fits in most residential lifts standing on end with pedals to the wall. If diagonal fit is impossible we go to stair-carry.
- Corridor turns and doorway widths. Baby grands are wider than most Hong Kong doorways with legs attached — we remove legs and lyre on-site.
- Stair route. Walk-ups over 6 floors add a fourth crew member and a piano skid with pneumatic wheels.
Crew arrives with heavy moving blankets, piano skid, ratchet straps, and gloves. We wrap the instrument fully before it leaves the room.
Donation routing (when possible)
Pianos in tunable condition — usually under 40 years old, no serious frame cracks, keys not warped — often have a second life at a school, church, or community centre. We keep a contact list. If we can place your piano within 48 hours we do; if not, or the technician says it's past economic repair, it goes to bulky waste.

Will you take a digital piano?
Yes. Digital pianos and stage keyboards are much simpler (under 60 kg) and don't need the skid. Just tell us the model and floor.
Can my piano be donated?
If it's still tunable, we try to route it to a school, church or community centre first. If we can't place it within 48 hours or the technician says it's past repair, it goes to disposal.
Do you tune pianos?
No — we're removal specialists, not tuners. If your piano is being donated we can introduce a technician for the recipient.
